Something Is Off
The couple made their way to their secret route and soon they were blissfully plodding along in perfect privacy and silence. They came to a majestic viewpoint and smiled as they looked about the marvelous ocean. That was when a smell far worse than the salty sea hit them – one that Steven and Viola agreed that there was an unnatural stench wafting about. But there was something more that Viola’s nose was detecting. Something completely troubling.

The odor was certainly disgusting, like a large pile of rotting fish, but there was a disturbing detail to it that the couple could not place. Bad smells are one of nature’s best alarm systems, warning humans and animals alike to stay well clear of the source. This couple, however, was far more adventurous than most, and decided to track the stench down. They soon spotted a tiny grey lump, a bit tinier than a football, plopped in the sand.
